The difference our work makes
Four strands run through everything we do, and every one of them is measured. Together they turn furniture nobody wanted into value for people, households and the environment across Doncaster.
Social value
Our work generated £13.2 million in net social value in 2024–25. That is a calculated assessment of real, measurable outcomes, not an estimate of ambition.
Reducing waste
Through collection, repair, restoration and redistribution, we keep valuable materials in use for longer and out of landfill, supporting a more sustainable circular economy.
Opportunities for people
Volunteering, training placements and supported work help people build skills in furniture repair, retail, logistics and upcycling, a real step towards employment and independence.
Supporting people facing barriers
Working alongside community organisations, we create a supportive place for people facing barriers to employment or participation to rebuild confidence and reconnect.
Standing alongside people who face barriers
We work closely with community organisations and support services to create opportunities for people who may face barriers to employment or social participation, including those experiencing long-term unemployment, recovering from difficult circumstances, seeking resettlement, or managing health and wellbeing challenges. By offering a supportive environment where people can contribute meaningfully, we help them rebuild confidence, develop new skills and reconnect with the communities around them.

A home, not just a house
Access to essential household furniture plays a vital role in helping people establish safe, stable and comfortable homes. We support local residents by making quality furniture and household goods genuinely affordable, which matters most for anyone moving into new accommodation, transitioning from supported housing, recovering from a crisis or establishing a home after a period of instability. By keeping essentials within reach, we help households ease financial pressure while creating spaces that support wellbeing.

Reaching more people, together
In 2024–25 we reached more people than ever, not through expansion but by doing the same work more effectively and building stronger partnerships across the region. Councils, housing providers, charities and support services all help us get quality furniture and practical opportunities to the households that need them most. It is a shared effort, and it is what lets our impact grow year on year while our costs stay lean and our reach stays local.
