Anneleisse Firth - Administrator

In her own word below, Anneleisse describes her Refurnish experience.


I had been looking for work for a while but with no joy. I was on a scheme with the YMCA when I got the opportunity of a voluntary work placement at Refurnish.

I started in the office doing basic administration duties, but I soon got to like it as I was given the opportunity to try new areas of work and to develop my skills. Refurnish designed their own employment programme and I was rewarded for my efforts as a volunteer with an opportunity to enlist on it. The programme was only for twelve months, but it was focused on making me more employable. This programme was supported by funding provided by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.

Whilst on the programme I undertook the following qualifications and courses;

  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration
  • NVQ Level 3 Customer Service Diploma
  • Health and Safety for Business Leaders
  • Fire Safety Awareness
  • Emergency Life Support
  • Introduction to Fundraising
  • Financial Capability Levels 1, 2 and 3
  • Principles of Finance

Since commencing work with Refurnish Anneleisee has continued her education by successfully completing the following course;

  • Sage Accounts Level Two

In addition Anneleisse is presently undertaking;

  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration

My role currently consists of day to day administration of main contractor accounts, financial input, analysis and dealing with customer service enquiries

In recognition of my personal development I was asked to collect the 2010 Doncaster Employer of the Year Award for Outstanding Achievement on behalf of Refurnish
